WW2 German Dog Tag (Erkennungsmarke) – Coded Luftwaffe Mobilisation (Mob. Nummer) 3./KGr. z.b.V. 800

In Stock b8D2kc1

WWII German Luftwaffe coded identity disc. Unlike army tags that explicitly named the unit, the Luftwaffe utilized a strict numerical Mobilisation Number (Mob. Nummer) system on personal tags to protect unit locations and identities from enemy intelligence if captured. Original Assignment: 3. Staffel / Kampf-Gruppe zur besonderen Verwendung 800 (3rd Squadron, Bomber Group for Special Employment 800 abbreviated as 3./KGr. z.b.V. 800). Later Re-designation: 6. Staffel / Transportgeschwader 2 (6./T.G. 2). The Ju 52 Transport Role: Despite the Kampfgruppe (Bomber Group) designation in its early title, this unit was fundamentally part of the Luftwaffe's vital transport arm. They flew the legendary, rugged Junkers Ju 52 (affectionately known as "Iron Annie") to haul troops, drop paratroopers, and fly high-stakes supply runs directly to forward lines.

• The Eastern Front Campaigns: Operating under KGr. z.b.V. 800 and later T.G. 2, this squadron was heavily active on the Eastern Front. They flew grueling air corridors into tight pockets to drop supplies to trapped German ground forces and evacuate wounded soldiers during major Soviet counter-offensives.
